Mercury Insurance is offering a remote summer internship program called Mercury Ignite, designed for students to gain practical work experience in technology. Interns will collaborate on real business problems, participate in Agile frameworks, and have the opportunity to present their findings to the leadership team.
Responsibilities
Interns will work with their managers and fellow interns within an interactive Agile framework that includes daily stand-ups and weekly tactical problem-solving sessions
Interns will also attend the broader meetings within their respective functions to help further contextualize their work
Over the course of the summer, interns will ultimately build a minimum viable product (MVP) and have a 'capstone' opportunity to present those findings to the Mercury leadership team
Qualification
Required
Be legally eligible to work in the U.S
Pursuing a Bachelors (BS/BA) or Masters (MS/MA) degree in a technology field
Able to provide current GPA, as reported by your school. Minimum 3.0 GPA required
Enrolled student attending a university program with an expected graduation date on or after August 2025
Planning to seek full-time employment between December 2026 and September 2027
Preferred
Minimum 3.5 or higher GPA preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication
Good problem-solving skills
Willingness to independently learn and make an impact within a team environment
Strong programming skills in at least one of the following: Java, JavaScript, Python
Good understanding of different data structures and algorithms
Preferred but not required: experience with SQL and Git/GitHub/GitLab
