Allegion is a global leader in security solutions, dedicated to pioneering safety and security. They are seeking a Mobile Engineer Intern to collaborate with engineers on mobile app development, gaining hands-on experience with modern tools and contributing to impactful projects.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with mobile engineers to design, build, and test new features for Allegion’s apps and SDKs used by millions of customers.
Contribute code to real-world projects (Android, iOS, and cross-platform), following modern development practices like code reviews, version control, and CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in technical discussions, bringing curiosity and fresh perspectives to help shape solutions.
Support experimentation with emerging technologies such as Kotlin Multiplatform and new DevOps tooling.
Gain hands-on experience with mobile app distribution and testing platforms (Firebase App Distribution, TestFlight).
Work with mentors to understand software requirements, implement solutions, and deliver high-quality outcomes.
Learn how to translate user needs into technical requirements, while building strong collaboration skills across teams.
Share progress and outcomes with the broader team, developing communication and presentation skills.
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software/Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
Foundational programming experience (Java, Kotlin, Swift, or similar) with an eagerness to deepen your skills in mobile app development.
Resilient, flexible, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment where priorities may shift.
Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to contribute both independently and within a team setting.
Curious mindset with effective time management, creative thinking, and a willingness to tackle challenges.
A genuine desire to learn, develop, and make a real impact on projects that enhance Allegion’s mobile products and customer experience.
