MTS Systems is a global supplier of test and simulation systems and an ITW company. The Summer 2027 Software Engineer Intern will work onsite on real-world application software projects, collaborate with a manager and mentor, develop software solutions, and present project results to business leaders.
Responsibilities
As an intern, you'll work on real-world challenges that directly influence our business, while building a professional network with fellow interns and top leaders across Minnesota and beyond!
You'll be part of a collaborative team, working with a manager and mentor to complete a project from start to finish during the summer
At the end of the summer, you'll present your project to MTS business leaders, showcasing your contributions and impact
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineer or similar field. (Class of 2028)
Demonstrated technical experience and some proficiency in C++
Creative thinker and strong problem solver
3.0 GPA or above
Some experience in Windows UI/UX development
Ability to effectively deliver results while managing different priorities
A strong sense of accountability, responsiveness, and willingness to take ownership of issues and drive innovative solutions
Experience in leveraging Generative AI tools (Github Copilt, Claude Code, etc) in software development
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Eager to learn, with a proactive and positive attitude
Leadership and teamwork capabilities required (extracurricular, academic, etc.)
