Western Digital is a company of problem solvers focused on powering global innovation. They are seeking a Firmware Developer intern to work on cutting-edge technologies for high-volume hard disk drives, responsible for firmware design and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
Designing, implementing, validating, and maintaining firmware components using best-practice firmware development methodologies
Participating in design, test plan, and code reviews to ensure the quality of firmware
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing BS/MS or higher in CS, CE, EE or related field
Fluency with programming languages such as C/C++/Python
Interest in HDD, flash, semiconductor, components, nonvolatile memory industry
Exposure to the following via courses, projects, or experience is nice: TCL, MATLAB, Debugging, SAS/SATA Bus Trace Analysis, JTAG ICE (using GHS probes and Arium probes), TCG, FIPS, SVN, Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, JIRA, Confluence, MS Office
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Graduation between December 2026 - May 2027 preferred
3.0 or higher in major courses preferred
