Responsibilities
Contribute to the development of scalable APIs and microservices.
Assist in debugging, testing, and monitoring backend services in live environments.
Participate in code reviews and gain exposure to Matterport’s cloud-native tech stack.
Work closely with senior engineers to deliver new features and services.
Work with relational and non-relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, FoundationDB).
Work on internal tools that support all engineers at matterport.
Qualification
Required
Pursuing an accredited, non-profit, in-person Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science or computer/software engineering, or comparable major graduating between December 2025 and June 2027
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Familiar with backend development and object-oriented programming languages, such as Java/Kotlin or Python
Interested in scalable systems, microservices, and cloud-based architectures.
Comfortable using Git, working in command-line environment, and writing basic SQL.
Eager to learn and open to feedback in a collaborative engineering environment.
Preferred
Bonus: experience with container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), cloud environment (e.g. AWS) and API development.
Ability to write understandable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
Familiarity with Agile Development processes and Software Development Lifecycle.
Knowledge of web service design and development.
