Ansys develops engineering simulation software used to predict how product designs will behave and how manufacturing processes will operate. The student intern will be part of the Ansys Mechanical team and will work together with the team to develop advanced engineering features in the Mechanical flagship product.
Responsibilities
Develop new features using object-oriented programming language in state-of-the-art Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) software application based on the Finite Element Method (FEA)
Work alongside software developers during the design, implementation and verification process.
Investigate defects in production code.
Develop unit tests for the developed features.
Analyze results and improve the usability of the software.
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related technical major with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to university after the completion of the co-op program
Strong C++ or related object-oriented programming languages
Sharp and tenacious problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication
Team player, responsible, and motivated
Preferred
Knowledge of FEA or similar computational techniques
Experience in using Microsoft Visual Studio and software configuration management tools (e.g. GIT)
Knowledge of Microsoft Technologies (.NET Framework, COM, ATL) and agile software development practices
