Cisco is a leader in data and infrastructure solutions, and they are seeking a Frontend Software Engineer Intern to contribute to their innovative team. The intern will design, develop, and test software systems while working under the supervision of a mentor, gaining hands-on experience in agile development and state-of-the-art technologies.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, code and test software systems, or applications within the scope of a contained, end-to-end project.
Contribute through participation in agile development of project timelines, implementation design specifications, system flow diagrams, documentation, testing, and ongoing support of systems.
Work under the close supervision of a mentor with weekly check-ins.
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a certification program (e.g., Boot Camp, Apprenticeship, Community College), or currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program. Relevant fields include: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or a related technical field, and a strong record of academic achievement.
At least one semester/quarter remaining to complete after the internship.
Available to work 40 hours a week for 12 weeks.
Experience in QA, testing, and/or debugging.
Ability to legally live and work in the country for which you are applying, without visa support or sponsorship.
Preferred
Strong interest in frontend/UI/HTML/CSS/JS development
Familiarity with frontend JavaScript technologies including React/Redux, (nice to have: Typescript, jQuery, Backbone)
Coursework and project experience related to Machine Learning and AI concepts
Exposure to styling web applications using CSS
Exposure to working with REST APIs
Familiarity with Git or other version control systems
Experience collaborating and problem solving with others in a fast-paced environment
Able to learn new technologies quickly
Strong communication skills, verbal and written
