Collins Aerospace, an RTX business, is hiring a Software Engineering Intern for its Global Navigation Satellite System team. The role supports development, integration, and verification of advanced avionics and Positioning, Navigation, and Timing software, including embedded software and verification testing.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, integrate, and test embedded software for advanced avionics navigation systems
Develop and execute verification plans, procedures, and test cases for GNSS algorithms, navigation functions, and integrity‑monitoring software
Apply automation, scripting, and GenAI‑enhanced tools to improve verification quality and efficiency
Collaborate with navigation algorithm, systems, and hardware engineering teams to ensure robust end‑to‑end system performance
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session
Experience with embedded C/C++ software development
Proficient in using Python/MATLAB for signal analysis, test vectors, and prototyping
Preferred
Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Knowledge of GNSS Fundamentals and navigation systems
Understanding of basic algorithms and data structures
Working knowledge of SVN and Atlassian tools (e.g. Jira, Jama)
