The Software Engineering Intern will contribute to the full product-development lifecycle by building, testing, integrating, and delivering software applications for advanced systems processing modern communications. The role involves collaborating on cross-disciplined teams and working with C++, scripting languages, Linux, and software-development tools.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities span the full lifecycle of product development, from architecture and design, through integration, test, and field support. You will contribute to the build, test, and delivery of a set of software applications to be deployed to advanced systems that process modern communications for the U.S. Government. The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of concepts related to standard programming practices, software architecture, and networking
Work on complex technical problems while participating on collaborative, cross-disciplined integrated product teams
Work will be performed with guidance of a product lead and team members who will assist in establishing an approach, perform code review and support in testing
Qualification
Required
Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session
Experience developing in C++ in a Linux environment
Experience with one or more scripting languages, Python, Linux script, bash
Preferred
Experience with Object Oriented Design and Development
Software development experience (i.e. internship, co-op, or other work or academic project experience)
Experience working both in a team environment and individually
Experience Rust
Experience with Qt
Experience with User Interface development
Experience with Angular web GUI development
Experience with Multithreading

Experience in integrating software with hardware
Experience with Configuration Management tools, such as git
Experience maintaining and using build processes (makefiles, CMake)

Experience with or basic understanding of telecommunications systems concepts and/or signal processing
Experience with Network Protocols
Experience with or basic understanding of International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Standards
