As a Software Engineering Intern, you will gain experience in developing systems for C4ISR, working on cross-functional teams to deliver software solutions.
Responsibilities
Assist in design and development of software platforms and mission applications
Work in a rapid development environment as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Analyzing, developing, debugging, testing, configuring, and deploying software solutions in an agile continuous development environment
Applying state-of-the-art software development tools and techniques, working alongside other highly motivated engineers
Qualification
Required
Enrollment in a BS/BA, or MS/MA engineering/technical degree program
Entering Junior or Senior level year (BS/BA) or MS/MA student
Ability to obtain an active Top Secret/SCI clearance. The applicant must be able to maintain their security clearance for the position. Applicant must also be able to obtain and maintain the CompTIA Security+ certification
Basic understanding of standard software skills in design and code
Exposure to multiple high level programming languages (e.g., Java/J2EE, C/C++)
Exposure to various scripting languages – JavaScript, Python, PHP
Exposure to UNIX / Linux / Windows based development environments
Exposure to data structures, software design patterns and multiple programming language features
Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a dynamic environment
Ability to work in a collaborative environment (open seating arrangement)
Strong oral and written communications skills
Ability to take initiative, multi-task and work well under pressure
Preferred
Applicants with a current TS/SCI security clearance
Applicants with a current CompTIA Security+ certification
Experience developing with Java, Java EE, C/C++, Web Services, SOA
Experience with Cloud Computing, Angular Framework, Perl, JSON, HTML/CSS
Experience with build systems, such as Make, Ant, Maven and Gradle
Experience with version control systems, such as Subversion and GIT
Experience developing web-based graphical user interfaces (GUI) and applications
Experience implementing software designs as a member of a development team
Technical writing skills: capable of creating and modifying engineering documentation
Familiarity with Agile methodology principles
