CACI International Inc is seeking a motivated Software Engineering Intern to join their team in Jessup, MD. The ideal candidate will gain hands-on experience in database technologies and application development while working collaboratively in a hybrid environment.
Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of applications that interact with Oracle databases
Learn and write basic SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts under the guidance of senior engineers
Support database-related development tasks, data validation, and troubleshooting
Participate in code reviews, sprint planning sessions, and other Agile team ceremonies
Help document technical processes, system behavior, and application workflows
Contribute to testing, debugging, and quality assurance efforts
Work closely with the engineering team to understand system architecture and implementation details
Qualification
Required
Actively pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related discipline
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Basic understanding of programming concepts in languages such as Java, Python, C#, or similar
Exposure to relational database concepts (tables, joins, indexes, etc.)
Strong willingness to learn Oracle tools, SQL, and database development
Good analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate and collaborate in a team setting
Preferred
Coursework or projects involving SQL or database design
Familiarity with version control (Git, GitHub, Azure DevOps)
Understanding of software development life cycle concepts
Interest in cloud platforms (Azure, OCI, AWS)
