Advanced Micro Devices is a semiconductor company that designs and develops graphics units, processors, and media solutions. They are seeking a highly motivated Software Engineering intern/co-op to join their team, where the intern will work closely with software engineers on various responsibilities including software application maintenance and automation scripting.
Responsibilities
We will assign you responsibilities in which you will work closely with our software engineers to build and maintain our software applications
We will provide training on the full software creation process, from design and built to testing and deployment
We will encourage you to build scripts that automate some of our software development process
We will help you learn debugging methodologies to investigate the root cause of software issues
In certain projects we may have your involvement in crafting technical/functional documents and reports as needed
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a US based University in a Bachelor’s degree program majoring in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline
Preferred
Knowledge or experience with software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
Knowledge or experience with C/C++ programming and scripting languages like Python, Windows PowerShell, Linux shell script, Perl, Java, Javascript, UML
Knowledge or experience with operating systems UNIX/Linux OS
Knowledge or experience with databases, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
Knowledge or experience with cloud computing platforms, Azure
Knowledge or experience with web development frameworks, Django, Rails, Spring Boot
Knowledge or experience with markup languages like HTML, XML, XSL
Knowledge or experience with defect tracking, testing, debugging
Knowledge or experience with Git, Github, Perforce
Knowledge or experience with security technologies, OAuth, SSL, or TLS
Knowledge or experience with PC / CPU architecture, embedded systems, microcontrollers
