Viasat is a global communications company that offers satellite services. They are seeking a Software Engineer Intern for their DevOps Commercial Mobility team to provide in-flight connectivity solutions for commercial airlines.
Responsibilities
You will build up a vast knowledge in software development, networking, cloud application engineering, automation, data visualization, and container orchestration.
You will be working with various cutting-edge technologies at multiple layers of the software stack to design, develop, deploy, and maintain the in-flight connectivity service.
Your responsibilities will range from developing software that is able to scale across multiple commercial airline fleets to creating new products and services to monitoring and maintaining existing services for the commercial airline passenger, flight crew, mechanics, and installers.
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Math & Computer Science, and/or a related field
To be eligible for this position your final graduation date must fall between December 2025 and June 2026
You must be available for the full duration of the 12-13 week internship program
Preferred
Previous internship experience in a software development and/or test related area
Experience with networking: UDP, TCP/IP, AMQP, DHCP, DNS, and/or REST
Experience with development tools: Amazon Web Services, Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Puppet, CHEF, DataDog, Prometheus, Ansible, Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Linux
