Viasat is a company focused on delivering connections that change the world, operating in the telecommunications sector. They are seeking an intern to build and operate their intelligent CDN platform, working on core infrastructure and AI-powered operations to enhance web performance.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy cloud and edge network infrastructure software
Build observability and monitoring systems for CDN performance
Develop ML algorithms that optimize routing and caching decisions
Leverage AI coding agents and tools to accelerate development
Work on self-healing systems with automated issue detection and resolution
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer science
Final graduation date must fall between December 2026 and August 2027
Must be available to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship program
This position requires U.S. citizenship
Strong problem-solving skills, continuous learner, collaborative team player, able to articulate technical ideas and think through problems out loud
Self-directed problem solver who leans into ambiguity rather than away from it
Preferred
Interdisciplinary coursework or interests—whether that's a BA in CS or a BS student who explored philosophy, literature, design, or other fields alongside their technical studies
Solid fundamentals in Python, Go, Rust, Java, or C/C++, data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, networking concepts (DNS, HTTP, TCP/IP), and web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React)
