AMETEK is a manufacturer of electronic instruments and electromechanical devices, seeking a Software Engineer Intern to support testing and development of applications. The role involves developing scripts, assisting with UI component development, and participating in the DevOps process while gaining practical experience.
Responsibilities
Develop scripts to extract information from log files and store the information in a database.
Write small utilities to collect information from systems installed at customer sites to support preventative maintenance reporting.
Testing of advanced software features to validate performance and correct operation.
Assist with UI component development and testing using C# and WPF.
Assist with DevOps process by helping to manage branches and builds.
Document the builds and patches and customer issues.
Installation of Windows operating systems and SQL Server databases.
Configuration of cameras and lights for testing.
Computer network configuration and hardware installation.
Qualification
Required
Working toward an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in CS, or in a similar technical science discipline from an accredited college or university
Develop scripts to extract information from log files and store the information in a database.
Write small utilities to collect information from systems installed at customer sites to support preventative maintenance reporting.
Testing of advanced software features to validate performance and correct operation.
Assist with UI component development and testing using C# and WPF.
Assist with DevOps process by helping to manage branches and builds.
Document the builds and patches and customer issues.
Installation of Windows operating systems and SQL Server databases.
Configuration of cameras and lights for testing.
Computer network configuration and hardware installation.
Preferred
C# and .Net experience desired.
Experience installing and using relational databases such as Microsoft SQL Server, Postgress, or other databases highly desired.
Experience writing PowerShell scripts.
Familiarity with C++ is a bonus.
Familiarity with MS Visual Studio, and Windows
Experience with Software version control (Git, Mercurial, ClearCase) and other modern Software Engineering tools (Azure, DevOps, Agile, Jira, Confluence, CI/CD) desired
