The Software Development Engineering Apprentice role offers hands-on experience in technology through a combination of Related Technical Instruction and On-the-Job Training, focusing on coding, programming, testing, and analyzing application software.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with business analysts to identify business needs and technical solutions.
Design, document, code, program, test, and analyze application software.
Support existing applications and assist in the creation of new ones.
Develop prototypes based on user-defined conditions.
Work within teams utilizing Java, Mainframe Modernization, .NET, and C.
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED and/or equivalent military experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Experience working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to deliver in line with defined deadlines.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills and evidence of progressive growth in a previous position.
Must reside within the City of Milwaukee.
Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without need for visa sponsorship, now or in the future.
Preferred
Coursework or internships relevant to software development.
Familiarity with financial systems and Fintech applications.
Understanding of database management and data structures.
Experience utilizing Test Driven Development (TDD) and test automation tools like Selenium.
Knowledge of .NET, JCL, C, or COBOL programming languages.
