Nexteer Automotive is an automotive parts supplier, and they are seeking a Software Co-Op to support the Global Steering Core and Architecture activities. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance Product Line Engineering practices and gain hands-on experience in a technical environment.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, electrical, software, and systems engineering to support the implementation of the Pure Variant PLE tool.
Assist in developing and maintaining variant feature models that define product variability and configuration logic.
Apply restriction attributes to requirements and other artifacts and tools to ensure accurate product assets output, according to selected configuration.
Contribute to the development and documentation of PLE processes that guide how engineering teams interact with and benefit from the tool.
Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance tool usability and integration across disciplines.
Gain exposure to systems engineering practices and product lifecycle management within a global automotive environment.
Qualification
Required
Candidate must be attending a 2-year college or 4-year university local to Saginaw
Candidate must be at least a sophomore equivalent level
Candidate must be pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar disciplines.
Candidate must be able to work 20-32 hours during Fall and Winter semesters
Up to 40 in the summer
Must have cumulative 2.7 GPA on 4.0 scale
Must be a full-time student (12 or more credits) during Fall and Winter semesters
Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Products (Office 365, Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
Candidate must have excellent Communication, Documentation Skills and attention to detail
Candidate must have the right to work in the US and not require current or future sponsorship
