The role involves contributing to the development of an interactive web platform that visualizes and simulates disruptions in global supply chains.
Responsibilities
Design and develop front-end components using React, HTML/CSS, and modern JavaScript
Integrate geospatial data layers and APIs (e.g., Mapbox, OpenStreetMap, NOAA, NASA)
Integrate outputs from machine learning models into visual components for real-time insights and simulation
Build interactive dashboards and maps that model and simulate supply chain routes and disruptions
Collaborate with developers, designers, and subject matter experts in an agile development process
Participate in code reviews, brainstorming sessions, and design discussions
Qualification
Required
Working towards a Masters or PhD degree in Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Data Science, or related fields
Experience with JavaScript and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Vue)
Familiarity with geospatial libraries (Mapbox GL JS, Leaflet, Cesium, or D3.js)
Interest in climate resilience, supply chain, logistics, or complex systems
Eagerness to learn, experiment, and contribute ideas in a collaborative environment
