James Hardie is an industry leader in exterior home and outdoor living solutions. The IT Intern, Business Applications will gain practical experience supporting application project delivery, integration initiatives, testing, release management, documentation, and operational support. The intern will help improve test coverage, validate integration mappings, support backlog and release activities, and create customer onboarding and self-service documentation.
Responsibilities
Support application project delivery, release activities, and operational support
Participate in assigned integration and Global Applications initiatives
Assist in gathering and refining business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Collaborate with developers during solution design, development, and implementation
Prepare and execute functional test scenarios and test cases
Support system integration testing, user acceptance testing, defect management, and release-readiness activities
Validate integration mappings and document exceptions and remediation actions
Maintain current documentation for requirements, work items, test evidence, defects, decisions, owners, and next actions
Support backlog management, user-story refinement, customer onboarding, and self-service documentation
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising senior & rising junior)
Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027
Reliable transportation to and from the work location
Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot technical and business-process issues
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Visio or a similar diagramming tool
Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced project environment
Exposure to Jira, software testing, ERP systems, integrations, e-commerce platforms, or release management, with a strong willingness to learn
