Foundation Building Materials (FBM) is a leading construction materials distribution company serving the commercial and residential construction markets across the United States and Canada. They are seeking a motivated and quick-learning IT Intern to gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of IT, including software development, process automation, and data workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development and testing of internal tools using Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Participate in the design and implementation of RPA workflows to automate repetitive business tasks
  • Learn and apply automation platforms such as Power Automate and UiPath
  • Support QA testing across various IT initiatives
  • Assist with documentation and version control practices
  • Use tools like Git to manage and track code changes
  • Work with APIs and data sources to support reporting, integrations, and dashboards
  • Attend daily stand-ups and sprint planning meetings following Agile/Scrum practices
  • Contribute to process improvement discussions and team brainstorming sessions
  • Collaborate with team members using tools such as Jira
  • Learn new technologies, tools, and frameworks as required for project work

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualification

Required

  • Currently working towards a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Ability to think analytically and should be a problem solver
  • Ability to operate calmly in a high-pressure environment
  • Familiarity with software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies
  • Proficient in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or C++
  • Comfortable working with both front-end and back-end logic
  • Interest in automation, system design, or enterprise software development
  • Strong communication skills and a willingness to learn and ask questions
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines
