Pratt & Whitney Canada is a global leader in the aerospace industry, and they are seeking an Information Technology Specialist Intern for the summer of 2026. This role involves providing solutions and improvements for manufacturing lines and automated processes, as well as maintaining and troubleshooting computer, network, hardware, and software systems.
Responsibilities
Provide solutions to device related manufacturing problems
Maintain newly installed and legacy computer, network, hardware, and software systems, troubleshoot software, hardware, and network problems, disaster recovery preparedness
Introduce, maintain, and optimize technical solutions for existing systems
Upgrading or innovating operating systems with automation solutions, with an end goal of Industry 4.0
Analyze, design, and implement short- and long-term solutions to improve manufacturing capabilities
Implement programming initiatives to improve manufacturing equipment and processes
Provide support to 24/7 operations โ may involve working outside of normal working hours or shift work
Commitment to EH&S and Quality objectives
Provide project updates via presentations to leadership
Work closely with operators, area specialists and leadership to gather feedback to create opportunities that address the needs of manufacturing lines
Qualification
Required
Be eligible to work in Canada
Be enrolled in a Canadian university throughout your internship
Be able to work on-site in the province where you are hired if applicable
Pursuing a degree in Applied Computer Science or Computer Science
Excellent communication skills in English (spoken/written). French is an asset
Preferred
Organizational skills and ability to work under pressure with competing and varying priorities
