Light & Wonder, Inc. is hiring a Software Engineering Intern to help maintain and improve the automation and tools used to configure, build, package, deploy, and test software. The role supports internal systems and customer-facing products while providing hands-on experience with engineering tools and the software supply chain.
Responsibilities
Help maintain and improve build, packaging, deployment, and test automation
Complete small development and scripting tasks that make our tools faster and more reliable
Troubleshoot issues with internal systems and tools and help see them through to resolution
Support day-to-day technical services and operational tasks alongside your team
Work with engineers and peers to understand requirements, architecture, and development tools
Research and evaluate new technologies and share what you learn with the team
Document your work so others can build on it
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing or have completed a bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field
Genuine interest in DevOps and the software supply chain
Clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work well on a team
Good time management and organizational skills
Detailed oriented and capable of working and completing tasks with supervision
Some Development abilities in C#, C++, VBScript, JavaScript, ASP.Net, HTML, Perl, awk, Python, Lua, PowerShell, Bash
Experience with databases such as MS SQL Server
Exposure to software version control systems; GitHub, Perforce
Preferred
some experience in a software development environment
Exposure to virtual environments, Jenkins automation, Packer/Docker, Chocolatey desired
