Comtech Telecommunications Corp. is a leader in cutting-edge communications systems, and they are seeking a summer intern to work alongside senior developers. The intern will assist in building applications, maintaining systems, and resolving issues in production-quality software while gaining hands-on experience in a real production environment.
Responsibilities
Support senior engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of software applications
Assist in debugging, troubleshooting, and resolving issues in production-quality systems
Contribute code to small, well-scoped projects within an established technology stack
Learn and apply the organization’s software development lifecycle (SDLC), coding standards, and best practices
Gradually take on increasing technical responsibility as proficiency and system knowledge grow
Participate in code reviews, testing, and documentation
Develop and test software in a real production environment
Apply academic knowledge to solve real-world engineering problems
Learn and work with telecommunications protocols relevant to public safety systems
Gain exposure to development and monitoring tools such as GitLab, Splunk, automation frameworks, and SIP traffic generators
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams
Communicate technical progress, issues, and learnings to peers and leadership
Complete a capstone-style project demonstrating applied engineering skills by the end of the internship

Required
Currently enrolled in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering or relevant degree program
