Marvell Technology is a leader in semiconductor solutions that empower data infrastructure across various domains. They are seeking a Firmware Engineer Intern to develop embedded C firmware for DSP hardware, participate in the software development cycle, and collaborate with hardware/software teams to resolve issues.
Responsibilities
Develop embedded C firmware for controlling extremely complicated DSP hardware
Develop C & Python test code for utilities, GUIs, regression, and simulation infrastructure
Take an idea from concept through design, review, implementation, test, and release to customers
Work on mission critical features for top tier cloud customers
Debug difficult issues, drive to root causes with hardware/software teams, and follow up with Jira tickets to get bugs resolved
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or other related fields with an anticipated graduation date between Winter 2026 and Spring 2027
Strong programming skills in C and Python
Software development experience on embedded firmware environments
Understanding the fundamentals of computer architecture
Understanding of fundamental Networking from the OSI model, with emphasis on the PHY up to the data link level
Must be curious and driven to learn more about this complicated field
Excellent design and development experience, with strong verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
Knowledge of git, Linux, Makefiles, GDB, IDEs, and bash
Understanding of DSP concepts (Equalizers, Filters, ADC, DAC, FFE, DFE)
