The role involves hands-on coding, collaborating with product teams to develop reusable software components, and leveraging AI and automation capabilities to enhance software delivery.
Responsibilities
Hands-on coding to deliver functional, innovative software solutions
Utilize CI/CD tooling to deploy software and iterate solutions
Design and develop data integration and data management practices and tools
Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve developer productivity while maintaining code quality, security, and governance standards
Apply responsible AI practices, including validation, testing, security review, and human oversight of AI-generated code and solutions
Leverage AI and automation capabilities to accelerate software delivery and operational excellence
Hands-on development for integrating existing solutions with larger enterprise ecosystem (e.g., API development, Azure Data Factory)
Utilize CI/CD tooling to deploy software and iterate on solutions
Design and develop data integration and data management practices and tools
Understand technical requirements to maintain & support applications
Deploy, configure, support and enhance vendor software packages
Utilize AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) to improve developer productivity while maintaining code quality, security, and governance standards
Apply responsible AI practices, including validation, testing, security review, and human oversight of AI-generated code and solutions
Leverage AI and automation capabilities to accelerate software delivery and operational excellence
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in bachelor's or master's degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or related fields or equivalent experience
Must provide a current, unofficial transcript with online resume (as proof of good academic standing) when applying for this position to be considered
Ability to demonstrate The Chevron Way
Preferred
C#, .NET, Java, Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, React, Angular, Node.js, SQL, GitHub Actions, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Bicep), Kubernetes/OpenShift, Azure Cloud Services, REST APIs, GraphQL, Event-Driven Architectures, and AI-enabled development tools such as GitHub Copilot
Experience with GitHub Enterprise, pull request workflows, branch protection, code reviews, and modern trunk-based or Git-based development practices
Demonstrated understanding of software development lifecycle (plan, design, develop, test, release, maintain and support, decommission)
Hands-on experience with Azure Cloud, Ansible, and Azure DevOps
Demonstrated business negotiation skills, influence, conflict resolution, and resolving technical stalemates
