The Software Business Analyst Intern will partner with Business Analysts to assess processes, conduct interviews, and identify improvement opportunities, while also managing product health KPIs and operational roadmaps.
Responsibilities
Partner with Business Analysts on active product features to assess current processes
Conduct discovery interviews to define problem statements, surface pain points, and map workflows end-to-end
Translate findings into actionable improvement opportunities
Ideate on how process changes or AI solutions could address improvement opportunities
Manage and prioritize the operations improvement roadmap
Generate and maintain product health KPIs in a centralized Confluence repository
Validate that data pulls from Jira and Jama are running accurately and flag anomalies for discussion with mentor
Define and validate a core set of PO health KPIs in collaboration with product stakeholders
Build and deploy a Product Metrics Dashboard that surfaces key data points
Conduct an end-to-end process analysis of key product owner activities
Synthesize analytical findings into a prioritized operations improvement roadmap
Ideate and implement prioritized operational improvements leveraging process changes and AI solutions
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
Experience working on software projects with an understanding of the software development lifecycle, including how features move from requirements through delivery
Comfortable working with data metrics and visualizations, with the ability to define meaningful KPIs and present findings in a clear and accessible way
Exposure to user experience principles or design thinking, with the ability to plan and conduct stakeholder interviews, synthesize findings into actionable insights, and communicate pain points and opportunities in a structured way
Curious about AI and how emerging tools can be applied to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency, with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Be willing to make a full-time commitment of 40 hours a week for 9 weeks from June 15 to August 14, 2026
This position must be based in Hercules, California and requires the employee to be located within commuting distance of the office
