Product Management Engineering Intern (Summer 2026)

GlobalFoundries is a leading full-service semiconductor foundry that provides design, development, and fabrication services. The Product Management Engineering Intern will learn to create semiconductor solutions, specifically focusing on developing a Product Requirement Document and supporting various stages of Product Lifecycle Management.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with end-market teams to understand the market drivers.
  • Perform competitive analysis to guide product definition.
  • Create a Product Requirement Document (PRD) for a differentiated semiconductor solution in Silicon Photonics to meet market needs and ensure customer success
  • Support for various stages of the PLM process which might include business case creation, competitive analysis, risk management, go-to-market strategy, and product definition.
  • Track project timelines and deliverables; coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure success.
  • Learn and utilize Siemens Teamcenter PLM software.
  • Perform customer requirements analysis in support of the business
  • Assist in a variety of business processes, including: revenue forecasting and tracking, customer sampling, statements of work, etc.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Qualification

Required

  • Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a B.S. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship. The role will be tailored to experience level.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Ability to work at least 40 hours per week during the internship.
  • Preferred job location is Malta, NY or Santa Clara, CA

Preferred

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong planning & organizational skills
