Allegion is a global leader in security around the doorway and beyond, recognized for its engaging workplace culture. They are seeking a Product Experience Intern to assist in engineering and product testing, contributing to new product development and enhancing customer experiences. The intern will collaborate with various teams to identify and address customer experience issues with products.
Responsibilities
Work closely with Product experience & NPD program extended team members to effectively communicate witnessed and anticipated Customer interface and experience-based concerns and to drive user expectations into our new product offerings.
Help define and verify anticipated customer experience issues and concerns with new products or products with significant updates focusing on the real Customer Experiences being delivered.
Sit in on review for historical customer feedback and consult with current customers, Technical Services, Field Support, and Marketing associates to uncover and baseline attributes of similar products currently offered, with the goal of identifying customer experience improvement opportunities and features in each new product offering.
Help define product experience-based requirements with engineering and product management associates.
Contribute to drive simple and intuitive product designs and end user experiences that improve adoption of Allegion products:
Perform early prototype product, minimal viable product testing and system validations with use case driven scenario testing to discover, manage, and avoid product frustrations and fielded product problems.
Promote design guidelines UI/UX best practices and Allegion standards throughout our products, software applications and website interfaces.
Drive common features across similar products so that Allegion products interface and work better together.
Work closely with product experience team, project teams, business stake holders and external vendors or contracted sources to define actions, budget, and schedule customer experience validations with actual product installations, witnessed real-life installations and product use at customer sites.
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, management, technology, or engineering
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for conducting market research and identifying opportunities for product improvement
Mechanical inclined, able to use small hand tools effectively
Excellent verbal, written, computer, and presentation skills
Team player able to quickly establish successful cooperation with all colleagues
Experience with: Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, and Microsoft Teams
