They are seeking a Product Design Intern to lead the development and management of their design system, focusing on building scalable UI components and collaborating closely with product managers and front-end engineers.
Responsibilities
Design and build reusable UI components in Figma aligned with product requirements
Define and maintain design tokens (e.g., color, typography, spacing) to support consistency and scalability
Establish and document design patterns and usage guidelines for cross-team adoption
Collaborate with front-end engineers to align design components with implementation in Storybook
Contribute to the development and evolution of a centralized design system
Participate in product discussions, sprint planning, and design reviews
Support ongoing improvements to design-to-development workflows and handoff processes
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in design, human-computer interaction, or a related field
Foundational experience with UI/UX design and component-based design systems
Familiarity with Figma; exposure to tools like Storybook or front-end concepts is an asset
Interest in design systems, scalable product design, and design-engineering collaboration
Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn in a fast-paced product environment
