HarperCollins Publishers is a leading publisher of commercial fiction and narrative nonfiction. The Intern will support the Assistant Product Manager in various marketing efforts, gaining experience in marketing, product management, and new product development.
Responsibilities
Supports the Assistant Product Manager, New Product, with sales materials, including copywriting, internal and external comp titles, system inputs, execution, and communication
Collaborates with key stakeholders to ensure the timely development, presentation, communication, and implementation of plans as per seasonal work-back schedules
Contributes to the creation and execution of digital advertising assets
Manages asset development for marketing materials and sales collateral
Works closely with the promotions team and cross-functional groups to develop and execute marketing plans and creative strategies to achieve objectives and ROI
Prepares author communications and marketing plans
Conducts trend investigation projects to inform publishing strategies and identify areas of opportunity
Handles cover tracking, data entry, and promotional nominations
Assists with seasonal processes, including Trello card setup and slide presentation creation and population
Reviews acquisitions and engages in publishing team product discussions
Qualification
Required
Completion of university or college education
Ability to successfully manage multiple projects with strong time management and prioritization skills
Proven ability to deliver timely, accurate work, manage multiple deadlines, and demonstrate solid follow-through
Ability to pay close attention to detail in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
High level of organization and record-keeping
High degree of initiative and independence, and the ability to anticipate needs
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; collaboration, persuasion, and problem-solving skills, with the aptitude to communicate effectively in both individual and group settings
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including a basic understanding of Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Creativity, enthusiasm, and a love of books are a must
