The Boston Beer Company is seeking a Product Design COOP for their Research & Development Team at the Sam Adams Pennsylvania Brewery. This role offers college students hands-on experience in product testing, data collection, and analysis, while supporting sensory evaluation and laboratory operations.
Responsibilities
Protect the sensory profile of high-quality products and ensure profile consistency
Learn and understand how sensory assists in quality assurance in an active production brewing
Support lab operations, including equipment maintenance and inventory management
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely project completion
Support laboratory operations and sensory team to meet project timelines and goals
Oversee interbrewery and flavor house shipments, both incoming and outgoing
Opportunities to complete benchtop prototype development needed for trial work and new product testing
Opportunities for personal research study
Qualification
Required
Enrolled in a 2+ year Food Science B.S or M.S program (also acceptable, Brewing, Psychology, Food Science Technology, Biology, Chemistry or Chemical Engineering)
Must be able to commit to a 6-month long COOP
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must be able to commute daily to the Sam Adams Pennsylvania Brewery in Breinigsville, PA
Time management, data analysis, multi-tasking, organizational skills are essential
Must not require sponsorship to work in the United States, now or in the future
Ability to lift up to 40lbs
