The Walt Disney Company is a leading entertainment company that has evolved from a cartoon studio into a major player in sports coverage and television shows. They are seeking a Publicity Intern to support the Searchlight team during film promotions and events, offering hands-on experience in the film industry and publicity campaigns.
Responsibilities
Collecting and distributing daily press breaks across all media (newspaper/magazine/digital)
Managing department charts and documents
Assisting publicists with research projects and providing support to the brand partnerships department
Setting up zoom meetings and facilitating recordings, delivery of publicity materials, organizing PR files
Prepping materials and participating in weekly meetings
Working at screenings, premieres, junkets and press days
Qualification
Required
Experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Experience working in collaborative environments and managing multiple projects
High attention to detail and experience multitasking in a fast-paced environment
Previous experience working in the entertainment industry
Desire to gain development experience to further their career
Strong written and verbal communications skills
Knowledge and interest in Searchlight Pictures are a plus!
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Studying in publicity, marketing or related field.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program
Must be able to work 40 hrs per week, Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST onsite
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the New York City, NY area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Preferred
Prior internship experience in film, publicity, marketing, or other related fields preferred.
