The Walt Disney Company, known for its evolution from a cartoon studio to a major player in sports and television, is offering an internship with Searchlight Pictures. The intern will collaborate with the International Team and assist in tracking digital trends, analyzing marketing campaigns, and providing support on various projects.
Responsibilities
Track digital trends and social media benchmarks, as well as monitor social marketing campaigns of both arthouse and mainstream films to find best practices across the industry
Analyze, review and report on effectiveness of campaigns or media coverage to maximize results and help inform marketing
Monitor ad library across competitive studios and titles and report findings on ad placements and timing
Engage with Searchlight’s email membership program and email marketing including competitive analyses
Attend marketing brainstorming sessions and provide creative ideas for digital activations
Monitor and report on daily press coverage of Searchlight titles
Conduct ad hoc quantitative analyses and report findings on domestic/international film markets
Assist with special projects as needed and provide general administrative support
Qualification
Required
General interest in and knowledge of Searchlight Pictures and the film/entertainment industry as a whole
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and pivot tables), and Zoom
Strong social media / digital knowledge with an understanding and passion for emerging digital trends and technologies
Demonstrated strong verbal, written communication and project management skills
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Strong collaboration and relationship skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Proven self-starter and ability to balance multiple priorities
Thrives in fast-paced environments, works well and stays organized under pressure, and strong ability to balance multiple projects at once, pivoting and prioritizing as needed
Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
Be at least 18 years of age
Possess unrestricted work authorization
Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am - 6pm PST for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, CA area
Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
Preferred
Previous internship, professional job experience or similar academic experience in Marketing, Advertising, Mass Communications, Journalism or similar
Advanced knowledge in Excel
Experience using Adobe Photoshop
