They are seeking an Intern for Internal Communications who will assist in drafting content, managing communication channels, and supporting onboarding and events to enhance internal engagement.
Responsibilities
Assist in drafting, editing, and proofreading internal messages, announcements, newsletters, and digital screen (eBoard) content
Help create visual or multimedia content to support internal campaigns (e.g., photos, short videos, graphics)
Upload and update content on internal platforms such as digital TVs, SharePoint, and email distribution lists
Monitor communication boards and displays around sites to ensure content is timely and relevant
Assemble and prepare welcome packages kits and messaging
Help coordinate onboarding-related materials and communication touchpoints
Support execution of employee recognition programs including continuous improvement awards in partnership with VPS
Assist in preparing materials and logistics for internal events such as town halls, site visits, team celebrations, and communication campaigns
Support visitor hosting by preparing signage, welcome materials, and coordination tasks
Help deliver internal engagement campaigns around safety, values, diversity, health & wellness, or community events
Collect feedback or engagement metrics when applicable (e.g., surveys, QR code responses)
Maintain distribution lists
Support file organization, content calendars, and tracking logs for communication activities
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in academic courses and pursuing a degree in Communications or Marketing at an accredited school
Completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship
In good academic standing with a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.75/4.0
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey messages clearly and professionally
Able to manage complex tasks and timelines with precision and consistency
Skilled in balancing multiple assignments while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines
Takes initiative, seeks solutions, and works independently with minimal direction
Familiar with visual communication tools and able to contribute to the design of engaging graphics and materials
Comfortable supporting or generating basic video content for internal campaigns and messages
Builds positive relationships and communicates effectively across all levels of the organization
Demonstrates ownership, dependability, and strong follow-through
Effective professional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
