Nexstar Media Group, Inc. is a leading political media organization, and they are seeking a motivated Events Intern for the summer. This internship offers hands-on experience in event planning and execution, where the intern will assist in organizing various events and support the Events team in marketing strategies and logistics.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and logistics of events, including venue research, vendor coordination, and on-site support
Collaborate with the Events team on event marketing strategies, including social media promotion and email campaigns
Aid in the coordination of guest lists, RSVPs, and attendee communications
Provide on-site support during events, ensuring smooth execution and attendee satisfaction
Assist with post-event activities such as attendee follow-up, data collection, and event analysis
Conduct research on industry trends and best practices to contribute innovative ideas to the Events team
Qualification
Required
Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program, preferably in Journalism, Event Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred
Previous experience with event planning or coordination is a plus but not required
Interest in Journalism, politics, media, or related fields is preferred
