Responsibilities
Support the execution of the external and internal communications plans to highlight the impact of our mission-capable combat systems for customers and stakeholders
Conduct research on industry trends, competitors and customer insights to inform storytelling and messaging strategies
Tell the stories of our products, customers, community partnerships and values in creative and engaging ways
Write clear, engaging copy for social media, press releases, internal newsletters and other digital platforms, as well as for special events and trade shows
Contribute ideas to editorial calendars and brainstorming sessions for creative campaigns
Support special events, trade shows and customer engagements as needed
Help prepare media kits, fact sheets and other media relations materials for events and announcements
Track and compile communications analytics
Attend team meetings and contribute to planning discussions
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing or recent graduate with a degree in marketing/communications, public relations, journalism or related field
Internship Work Period: The internship is based in the BAE System's Sterling Heights office. Applicants must be available to work 40 hours a week during the summer months and 16-24 hours during the school year (2-3 days a week)
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft clear, engaging and professional content
Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Experience with social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook and X) and an understanding of best practices for each
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
Creative thinker with a passion for storytelling and a customer-focused mindset
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams
Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Knowledge of AP Style
Preferred
Provide a portfolio or samples that showcase both written and visual work
Previous internship or related experience in marketing or communications is a plus
