They are seeking a Category Management intern to assist in optimizing the performance of a specific product category by analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and sales data to maximize profitability and sales.
Responsibilities
Gathering, cleaning, and analyzing sales data to identify trends, customer insights, and performance metrics within the assigned category
Conducting market research to understand competitor strategies, new product innovations, and overall market dynamics
Supporting the Category Manager in developing and executing category strategies, including pricing, promotion, product assortment, and shelf space optimization
Collaborating with suppliers to ensure timely delivery, negotiate pricing, and manage product quality
Assisting in planning and executing promotional activities for the category, including analyzing promotional effectiveness
Qualification
Required
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI)
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Interest in market research and consumer behavior
Basic understanding of financial analysis and profitability metrics
Pursuing a degree in business- or business-related field
Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college in Junior or Senior year (At least 18 years of age)
Your degree should be business related (ie., Business Admin., Mgmt., etc.)
Self-directed and able to work without supervision
Energetic and eager to tackle new projects and ideas
