Kroger is a leading retail company seeking current college students for their Summer 2026 Internship Program. The internship offers hands-on experience in data engineering, allowing students to assist in designing and maintaining data pipelines while collaborating with data scientists and analysts.
Responsibilities
Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines.
Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements.
Help in optimizing data storage and retrieval processes.
Participate in data cleaning, transformation, and integration tasks.
Document data processes and contribute to technical documentation.
Partner with associates on various projects to implement technical and corporate strategies
Participate in weekly/monthly department meetings
Assist in working on new technology platforms that are revolutionizing the retail industry
Participate in intern programs that support technical and leadership development within the organization

Qualification
Required
Open to computer science or STEM majors, must be actively pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university with a preferred GPA of 3.0
Basic understanding of data engineering principles and ETL processes.
Any experience with relational databases, BI reporting and data discovery tools is preferred (PowerBI, Tableau, SQL Server, Snowflake, MS Azure)
Exposure to any programming language (Python, Spark, R, etc.)
Highly motivated student with the desire to take initiative on their own work
