Entergy is seeking a Student Intern to support its Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. The role focuses on analyzing identity, access, authentication, and security data; developing reports and dashboards; improving data quality; identifying potential security risks; and supporting automation of manual processes.
Responsibilities
Assist with collecting, organizing, validating, and analyzing identity and access data
Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate IAM trends and performance
Analyze account, authentication, access, and entitlement information to identify trends, anomalies, and potential risks
Assist with identifying inactive, duplicate, orphaned, or potentially over-permissioned accounts
Analyze metrics related to account provisioning, deprovisioning, password resets, MFA, access requests, and other IAM activities
Assist with monitoring privileged accounts and high-risk access
Support analysis of Active Directory users, groups, and access
Assist with data reconciliation and improving identity data quality
Help develop and maintain IAM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and manual IAM processes
Assist with developing scripts, queries, or workflows to improve operational efficiency
Support identity governance, access reviews, and cybersecurity compliance activities
Assist with documenting analytical processes, procedures, and findings
Present analytical findings and recommendations to IAM team members and cybersecurity leadership
Participate in IAM projects and other cybersecurity initiatives as assigned
Build a Power BI dashboard showing IAM operational and security metrics
Analyze account provisioning and deprovisioning performance
Identify trends in authentication failures and account lockouts
Analyze privileged and high-risk account populations
Evaluate Active Directory group membership and access patterns
Develop analytics for dormant or inactive accounts
Analyze MFA adoption and authentication trends
Create reporting around service accounts and account ownership
Automate recurring IAM reports using PowerShell, Python, SQL, or similar technologies
Explore the use of AI and advanced analytics to identify identity-related risks and improve IAM operations
Qualification
Required
Candidates must be actively enrolled and pursuing a bachelors, masters or doctorate degree in in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field from a four-year institution
Must have a minimum c umulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Interest in cybersecurity, identity management, and data analytics
Ability to organize and analyze data and communicate findings clearly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Authorization to work in the United States is a precondition to employment in this position. Entergy will not sponsor candidates for work visas for this position
Preferred
