Seagate Technology is seeking a Software Development Intern to develop real-time monitoring software for AFM probe wear. The intern will work closely with engineers and cross-functional teams, gaining valuable experience in software engineering and experimental science.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with engineers to identify measurable parameters for AFM tip wear.
Develop and test software modules for real-time data acquisition and analysis.
Implement user notifications for probe degradation.
Validate algorithms using experimental AFM data.
Document code and technical findings.
Present progress in team meetings.
Participate in code reviews and brainstorming sessions.
Qualification
Required
Programming experience (Python, C++, or similar).
Familiarity with data analysis and scientific software development.
Interest in AFM, nanotechnology, or instrumentation.
Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or a related field and must be enrolled in a U.S. university for Fall 2026 classes.
