Orica is one of the world’s leading mining and infrastructure solutions providers, and they are seeking Emerging Future Shapers for their Summer Internship Program in Brisbane. Interns will support data science and software development initiatives while gaining practical experience and exposure to real-world challenges.
Responsibilities
Support the preparation, exploration and analysis of technical and operational data
Assist with image-processing, data-validation and visualisation activities
Contribute to prototypes, testing and documentation under the guidance of experienced team members
Help communicate findings and insights clearly to technical stakeholders
Support the design, development, testing and improvement of software or digital solutions
Assist with troubleshooting, technical documentation and the translation of user needs into practical requirements
Participate in team discussions, reviews and continuous-improvement activities
Collaborate with colleagues across technology and operational teams to deliver practical outcomes
Qualification
Required
Currently completing a relevant tertiary qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Image Processing or a related discipline
An interest in applying technology, data and analytical thinking to real-world challenges
Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn new tools and concepts
Clear communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
A commitment to safety, inclusion and respectful ways of working
Availability to participate for the full Summer Internship Program period and to work from the advertised location
