Xcel Energy is a leading combination electricity and natural gas energy company, and they are seeking an IT Intern to support their Infrastructure and Network Organization. The intern will gain practical work experience in the Observability platform group, contributing to department objectives and goals while collaborating with key stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Learn to use various Observability tools
Implement, change and maintain monitoring, logging, and tracing solutions across various platforms
Continuous improvement of processes and automation across IT Service Management
Assist with updates, maintenance, and analysis of tools
Qualification
Required
Current student, Junior or Senior status (as of Fall 2026)
Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in CIS/Computer Science/ Data Analytics
Able to commute to the corporate office in Denver, CO
Local to Denver, CO
Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week) and/or part time during the fall (up to 20 hours a week)
Preferred
3.0 GPA (out of a 4.0 scale) or higher
Completed 2 years of undergraduate coursework, including classes in scripting, infrastructure and networking fundamentals
Experience with Observability tools and or infrastructure and network tools
