Wounded Warrior Project is a military and veterans charity service organization empowering injured veterans and their families. The MD&I Intern supports impact evaluation priorities, focusing on data management and assessing the impact of WWP programs through data analysis and measurement.
Responsibilities
Gather, clean, and validate structured and unstructured data from various sources.
Follow best practices in data collection, storage, analysis, and governance.
Help create data hygiene reports that highlight actionable insights to improve WWP databases and data systems.
Assist in performing basic data analysis under the guidance of the MD&I team, helping to identify key trends and insights.
Generate reports, charts, and data visualizations to summarize findings.
Support the preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Review data to ensure accuracy, validity, and consistency in reporting.
Assist in organizing and archiving data, reports, and related documents for easy access.
Help manage tasks and projects to ensure they meet deadlines and align with team priorities.
When applicable, collaborate with WWP teammates to learn more about programs and the WWP network of support.
Other related duties as assigned.
Qualification
Required
One year of experience in handling and analyzing large datasets in Excel, R, SAS, STATA, Python, or similar statistical tools.
One year of experience using Microsoft Office, e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
HS Diploma or equivalent.
Currently enrolled in an accredited college. Pursuing an undergraduate degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, social sciences, data science, or related field.
Basic understanding of statistical methods and data analysis techniques.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint).
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Familiarity with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, SAS) or experience building and generating reports and dashboards from customer relationship management software (e.g. Salesforce).
Effective organizational, time management, and strong documentation skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Strong ethical standards regarding data confidentiality and integrity.

Preferred
Pursuing a graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, economics, social sciences, data science, or related field.
