Benchmark is an organization focused on creating technology and manufacturing solutions across sectors including aerospace, defense, communications, medical, and semiconductor equipment. The Data Operations Intern will support Product Realization data management by maintaining records, validating data quality, preparing documentation, monitoring dashboards, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders on reporting and process improvement.
Responsibilities
Analyze automated and ad hoc Zoho reports to identify new or missing engineering and production opportunities that meet Product Realization tracking criteria
Use Excel functions, filters, comparisons, and lookups to reconcile source reports against PRD records and flag potential data gaps or inconsistencies
Add approved opportunities to the Product Realization Dashboard and accurately populate required program, customer, ownership, phase, status, ramp, and documentation fields
Create and organize SharePoint program directories and upload the required Product Realization phase folders, templates, and supporting records
Complete the initial Phase 0A approval submission and checklist for newly added opportunities, documenting any questions or data concerns for review
Review the PRD Summary and PRD Details in Power BI to monitor data completeness, program assignments, transition constraints, health indicators, ramp dates, and update status
Validate that program health indicators, main constraints, comments, and key dates are internally consistent; escalate conflicting or unclear information to the appropriate owner
Confirm that awarded programs have an assigned Program Manager and coordinate with the appropriate business owner when assignments or required information are missing
Monitor weekly program updates, identify stale records, and send professional follow-up communications to Program Managers or opportunity owners when updates are needed
Support dashboard access requests and basic user enablement so authorized Program Managers can maintain their assigned records
Document recurring data issues, process observations, and improvement opportunities; contribute to standardized work instructions and efficient data management practices
Collaborate with Product Realization, Program Management, Commercial, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve data questions and improve reporting visibility
Qualification
Required
The Data Operations Internship is designed for a sophomore or junior experience in data analytics, business operations, computer information systems, or a related field
Foundational knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, formulas, and working with structured data
Interest in data analytics, data quality, reporting, business operations, or process improvement
Strong attention to detail and willingness to investigate incomplete, inconsistent, or unclear information
Ability to organize work, follow documented procedures, and manage recurring daily and weekly responsibilities
Professional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to follow up with stakeholders respectfully and clearly
Ability to learn new business systems and tools, including Power BI, SharePoint, Teams, and CRM reporting
Comfort asking questions, receiving feedback, and working through unfamiliar business processes in a structured manner
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree, some relevant areas of study may include:
Data Analytics or Data Science
Business, Business Analytics, or Operations
Computer Information Systems or Management Information Systems
Computer Science
Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related analytical discipline
either verification that an applicant falls under the definition of a “U.S. Person” (which includes U.S. citizens, U.S. lawful permanent residents, and those granted U.S. asylum or refugee status) or on the Company timely obtaining any necessary export license required under federal laws
Preferred
Familiarity with Power BI, SharePoint, Power Automate, data visualization, or AI productivity tools is a plus, not a requirement
