James River Insurance is an excess and surplus lines segment of James River Group Holdings, Inc. and is seeking a Claims Intern to support their innovation and automation goals in the Claims Department. The role involves collaborating on technical projects related to dashboards, automation, and AI, requiring part-time commitment of 5-10 hours a week.
Responsibilities
Continuously exhibit and uphold Core Values of Integrity, Accountability, Communication and Teamwork, Innovation and Customer Service
Obtain a thorough understanding of the basic principles of risk as it relates to insurance products and services
Collaborate with various departments to complete assigned projects
Collaborate with Data Analyst on projects involving AI and automation that will lead to improved outcomes
Qualification
Required
Active enrollment in or recent graduation from an accredited institution in a 4-degree university
Experience using Copilot and other LLMs
Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite of tools including Office, Power Apps and Automate
Experience creating and working with data-driven business intelligence dashboards
Experience analyzing large data sets
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently
Continuous learning style
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Ability to successfully prioritize and manage deadlines
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
Possess a positive and motivational attitude

Minimum 3.0 GPA in core courses preferred
