Healthcare Data Analyst Intern (Summer 2027) - Indianapolis Health

Milliman’s Indianapolis Health practice is seeking a Healthcare Data Analyst Intern to support consulting work with Life Sciences companies. The role involves analyzing health and drug datasets, implementing data analysis plans, and communicating findings effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze large, complex health and drug datasets
  • Implement data analysis plans to address project objectives
  • Learn and use coding languages to analyze data and check for reasonability of results
  • Build user-friendly and dynamic Excel models
  • Utilize strong problem-solving skills
  • Effectively communicate data analysis findings to the consulting team (verbally and written)
  • Work efficiently in a multi-task environment
  • Work both independently and collaboratively on projects

Qualification

Required

  • Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in mathematics, actuarial science, computer science, data science, statistics, economics, or another related quantitative field
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel or other similar software for quantitative analysis
  • Experience with coding languages (e.g., SAS, R, VBA, SQL) and a desire to learn more
  • Will have completed Bachelor's degree or higher, in an analytics or mathematics-related field, and available for full-time employment by fall 2027 or summer 2028
  • Enthusiastic about working with health-centric data
  • Eager to learn new technologies
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Detail-oriented and capable of carrying out tasks independently
  • Insightful, able to pose good questions
  • Collaborative team player
  • Basic knowledge of Gen AI tools, how to utilize AI to enhance productivity, and potential ethical considerations or concerns

  • Desire to grow and progressively take on more responsibilities
