Jacobs leads the global professional services sector delivering solutions for a more connected, sustainable world. As a GIS Intern, you will assist the Turnpike OMS/GIS team in managing the OMS Application and provide GIS Database support for maintenance operations.
Responsibilities
Use geographic maps and other geospatial business solutions, including web mapping applications and geo-processing tools to support the Turnpike Operations, and other internal customers using GIS and other mapping software
Assist in managing day-to-day Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) operations of Infor Operations Management System (OMS), providing daily operational support, quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) of the CMMS system.
Work directly with appropriate operations personnel and management to understand project concepts, objectives and approach, and assist in the resolution of immediate operational issues.
Assist management and integration of GIS data that is collected by field staff as well as interacting with other departments to coordinate on GIS related matters.
Assist with managing the District Maintenance SharePoint sites including publishing content as assigned.
Assist with on-going efforts in monitoring and reviewing internal controls and processes for both operational and managerial activities to ensure proper standards, procedures, and policies are addressed to provide for continual improvements.
This position will include some programming and data conversion related to GIS data collection, analysis, and integration to support the organization’s goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualification
Required
Enrollment in an accredited computer science degree program or related field.
This position will be based out of Florida’s Turnpike Pompano Operations Center.
A valid US Driver's License is required.
Preferred
GIS knowledge and experience
Knowledge of the principles of information technology applications, maintenance practices, specifications and procedures; methods of data collection and analysis to utilize problem solving techniques.
Skill in the use of personal computers, including software for GIS, spreadsheets, word processing, email, and internet source code and applications
Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Ability to work as a team member.
Ability to plan, organize, and execute multiple priorities.
Ability to analyze and interpret engineering data.
