AMA is a small business specializing in aerospace engineering, science, analytics, and information technology. They are seeking an intern to support the NASA Disasters Program Office by transforming raw spatial data into actionable intelligence and contributing to geospatial analysis workflows.
Responsibilities
Processing and analyzing geospatial data and supporting improvement of metadata standards.
Evaluation and assessment of remote sensing products for disaster response.
Development of value-add products integrating built environment and socioeconomic information with Earth observations.
Data and knowledge management through the development of SharePoint sites and dashboards.
Creation of novel data visualizations using Power BI and other geospatial software.
Writing technical reports and construction of reporting dashboards.
Qualification
Required
Bachelor’s Degree in Earth Science related field or working towards degree.
Expertise with ArcGIS, Story Maps, and ArcGIS Web Tools
Strong working experience with SharePoint development/customization and creating Power BI data visualizations and dashboards
Ability to coordinate with subject matter experts and stakeholders
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Resilient and good under pressure
Must be a US person.
Preferred
Master’s Degree in Earth Science related field
Previous work experience with NASA, contributing to projects that required technical expertise, collaboration across interdisciplinary teams, and adherence to high scientific standards.
Self-starter who can work independently or as part of a team.
