Moody's is a global leader in ratings and integrated risk assessment, striving to create an inclusive environment. They are seeking a Data Visualization Engineer Intern to develop components and tools for visualization libraries, build interactive data visualizations, and collaborate with team members to implement new features.
Responsibilities
Develop components and tools for our visualization and user interface libraries
Build custom interactive data visualizations for ongoing data story publications
Collaborate with developers, designers, and journalists to identify and implement new features
Participate in code reviews, contribute to team discussions, and write documentation
Qualification
Required
Strong front-end development skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with one or more JavaScript frameworks, such as React, Angular, Svelte, Vue
Can demonstrate abilities in a public-facing data visualization portfolio and GitHub repositories
Experience with Svelte, D3, and working with data in CSV and JSON formats
Experience collaborating with team members through Git workflows
Should be comfortable with working on the command line and with some backend code (e.g. Node.js)
Familiarity with User Experience design principles and web accessibility standards
Excited to explore and learn new technologies and innovative practices in data visualization development
Enthusiastic about initiating technical discussions and breaking down complex concepts for non-technical audiences
Students matriculating through college, studying towards a bachelor's degree, or equivalent qualification, or a master's degree, in computer science or related technical discipline
Graduation date of December 2026 - June 2027
Ability to work during program dates: June 1st - August 7th 2026
