Viasat is a company focused on delivering innovative communication solutions globally. They are seeking a Data Science Intern to assist the Government Product Management team in developing data pipelines, drawing insights from data, and creating dashboards that operationalize these insights.
Responsibilities
Develop data pipelines that allow data ingestion and data management
Draw new insights from network and user equipment data
Develop dashboards that describe the insights and operationalizes the underlying data
Collaborate with network engineers, cyber experts, and customer account managers to gain knowledge of customer needs and Viasat capabilities
Create, track, and refine customer metrics and insights
Develop data backend functions, data management pipelines, and insights dashboards
Determine appropriate data models and algorithms to accurately capture experience outcomes and insights
Qualification
Required
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer science, data science, engineering or related field
Final graduation date must fall between December 2026 and August 2027
Must be available to work 40 hours/week for the full duration of the internship program
Citizenship: This position requires U.S. citizenship
Data analysis and dashboarding experience
Experience in Python, C, or R programming
Be a self-starter who takes initiatives, collaborates with team mates from across the organization, and provides regular updates on task progression
Preferred
Strong communication skills to describe complex data and simplify messaging around insights and experiences
Organizational skills in tracking tasks, prioritizing daily work, and documenting progress
